Super exchange agreement and joint research thanks to partnership between 木瓜福利影视 of Sydney and Utrecht 木瓜福利影视

The partnership agreement between the 木瓜福利影视 of Sydney and Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 was signed today. Each university will annually allocate 70,000 euros to finance joint research programmes.

Professor Kathy Belov, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) of the 木瓜福利影视 of Sydney, described the signing as a 鈥渟ignificant moment鈥. Belov: 鈥淭his is our first agreement with a university on the European continent since the framing of our international partnership strategy. We will be building on a relationship with Utrecht that is already productive, but offers potential for exciting new collaborations in areas including education, geosciences, medicine and infectious diseases.鈥

Super exchange for students

Besides this partnership, Sydney and Utrecht have signed a 鈥榮uper exchange agreement鈥 to increase the number of exchange students between both institutions. Within the scope of this agreement, up to a hundred students from Sydney will eventually come to study in Utrecht each year and a similar number of Dutch students will go down under.

Researching together

One of the important partners in Sydney for the collaboration with Utrecht is Frans Verstraten, who occupies the McCaughey Chair of psychology and was both a student and a professor at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. Verstraten researches perception of movement together with colleagues in The Netherlands and studies the way the human brain handles an environment that is in motion.

From August onwards, Bart Gadella will work in Associate Professor laboratory at the Faculty of Veterinary Science in Sydney. Professor of the Westmead Clinical School collaborates with Vincent Robert and Sybren de Hoog, who both work at the CBS-KNAW Fungal Biodiversity Centre, in the field of biodiversity in fungi, molecular epidemiology and fungal genetics.

Partners on both sides of the globe

鈥淯trecht is one of a number of leading European universities that align well with our primary research areas,鈥 Professor Belov said. 鈥淭hey share our vision of forming a small number of strategic partnerships and using them to encourage high quality research.鈥

The agreement between both universities was signed today by President of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视's Executive Board Marjan Oudeman and 木瓜福利影视 of Sydney's Vice-Chancellor (Research) Duncan Ivison.
