Stuck with your research? The Complex Systems Studies Workshop may provide a new perspective!

On 15 November, the third Complex Systems Studies Workshop for master students, PhDs, and postdocs took place in the Greenhouse Complex of the UU Botanical Gardens. More than 30 researchers participated. Four groups of researchers put forth their problems and received valuable feedback from researchers with often very different perspectives.

The workshop began with four presentations of topics that had been sent in by participants, then they formed four small groups and worked on one of these topics in more depth
Jonas Haslbeck from the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam got some ideas to solve the open problems in creating a dynamic model of major depression
Gaby Lunansky from the 木瓜福利影视 of Amsterdam received some advice on psychological resilience and its indicators from a complex systems perspective
Alje van Dam and Joris Broere from UU understood their topic better through the discussion on constructing bipartite networks and applying measures of economic complexity
Heleen Pennings from UU harvested quite a few solutions on how to simulate moment-moment teacher-student interactions
