Special Interest Group on Student Mobility launched with Dialogue Series with and for International Students at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ
In Fall 2024, Special Interest Group on Student Mobility: Imaginaries, Temporalities and Regimes has been launched to address current research gaps in the field of international student mobility.
The main aim of the SIG is to further strengthen the research agenda on student mobility based on imaginaries, temporalities and regimes pillars.
As a way of launching the SIG, we organized three dialogue sessions with international students from Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ. The organization of the dialogue sessions allowed us to adopt a participatory approach, engaging directly with international students to gather first-hand insights into their experiences and perspectives. Through the sessions, the aim was to capture interpretations and reflections on the students’ mobility experiences, focusing on themes such as inclusion, belonging, and future migration intentions. In this short report, we provide a summary on the key take aways of these sessions and share some of the recommendations of current international students both for their peers and Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ.
