Soft launch Governance Lab Utrecht
On April 5 2017, the soft launch of the Governance Lab Utrecht (GLU) took place at the Utrecht School of Governance (USG/USBO). GLU is a joint initiative of the Utrecht School of Governance, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 School of Economics and the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development within Institutions of Open Societies (IOS).
During the soft launch the current plans for the establishment of the Governance Lab Utrecht were presented. Colleagues from various Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 departments and guests from governmental and societal organizations contributed to finalizing the plans in a design session.
The Governance Lab Utrecht is a research facility, teaching environment and consultancy & design facility for governance practices and innovations. GLU aims to realize a physical lab besides being an expertise network on various types of experimental research into governance. Besides classical experiments, GLU will support living labs, design and innovation labs and simulation labs. Key to GLU is to build a strong coalition of cooperation with partners from society and academia.
The presentation during the soft launch demonstrated how GLU incorporates various ongoing projects of research, teaching and consultancy. Establishment of GLU will also provide new opportunities for such projects. For example, to include GLU facilities in academic and consultancy research proposals, to include GLU in course manuals and student projects and to learn from an expertise network of UU academics using experimental methodologies.
The establishment of GLU is envisioned for autumn 2017. More information about this initiative can be found on .
