Research excellence confirmed: Freudenthal Institute proud to receive positive Research Evaluation

We are pleased to announce the finalization of our research institute's evaluation within the national assessment of pedagogical and educational sciences in the Netherlands. The evaluation included both a self-evaluation report and an on-site visit including interviews by an external committee of experts. The committee's assessment highlighted our institute's strengths in research, with a clear focus on societal relevance.

The Committee finds that FI has been highly successful in building a strong community. Its location within the Faculty of Science further strengthens both its research and societal impact. The Institute's sustainability is ensured through its extensive experience in securing competitive and contract funding. The UU TRIPLE model for career path diversification is effectively implemented and highly valued by its members.

Recommendations were made to improve the quality and relevance of the FI鈥檚 research even further. These recommendations include a.o. establishing a structure for research themes in like with strategic goals, investing in support staff, ensuring sufficient physical space and establishing a clear structure for continuous stakeholder involvement in research.

We鈥檙e very proud as an institute to receive this positive review and outlook on our accomplishments, that we of course ascribe to the entire staff of the Freudenthal Institute and all their continued efforts in their day to day work.
