On Thursday 7 March, UU’s premier education event will take place: the OnderwijsFestival. A day filled with inspiring, informative, and fun activities about our education.

Major advances in technology, especially digital technology, are rapidly transforming our world and have a huge impact on our learning environment. How do we deal with the possibilities and limitations of Artificial Intelligence (AI)? How can we integrate it in our education?

Generative AI like ChatGPT and other innovative technologies offer opportunities to enhance the quality of education, but it also requires handling it with wisdom. The OnderwijsFestival will include a focus on these transformative technologies and the importance of the human touch in shaping education - Wisdom as our compass: onderwijs blijft mensenwerk.

A varied programme

It promises to be an inspiring day full of workshops, interactive panel discussions, meetings, entertainment, music and much more. And, of course, the winners of the Teacher Awards and the UU Team Prize will also be announced.

How about tackling low literacy with AI? Or find out what the teacher's role is in a Challenge Based Learning course. Take a beginner's course in Community Engaged Learning or shape your course with Extended Reality (XR). Inspirational activities are also on the agenda: for instance, a street poetry walk and a silent disco. And of course, lecturers will pitch their scientific research into their own teaching (SoTL) in poster presentations.

In addition, there will be plenty of time to meet your colleagues over a snack and a drink. In short, too much to mention.
