Recognise and reward solidarity in times of crisis

The Utrecht Young Academy supports the  that calls for solidarity, suitable measures to reduce uncertainty for colleagues on fixed-term contracts and quick implementation of extension clauses for grant programs and tenure track evaluations.

In the statement, asks for solidarity under these circumstances, for example by supporting colleagues with teaching obligations, with homeschooled children and international colleagues far away from their homelands. In order to make this solidarity possible, universities, administrators, NWO and other funding bodies should all give their support and provide extension of the processes underlying tenure track assessments or promotions. 鈥淢aking researchers and professors jump through fewer hoops and putting a little more faith in their capabilities instead is in everyone鈥檚 interest.鈥

The Utrecht Young Academy fully supports the statement of The Young Academy. We welcome (young) academics at our university to share any problems, concerns or issues that may arise during these uncertain times. We will collect all these points and if needed will raise them with the Board of the 木瓜福利影视. If you wish, please contact us through uya@uu.nl or fill out (only 10 short questions) on the impact of corona measures on career of young academic staff.
