Promotion Liesbeth Hulst on trust and distrust in law
Liesbeth Hulst, as a postdoctoral researcher connected to the Montaigne Center for Judicial administration and Conflict resolution, was promoted at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam on the 1st of November 2017. She successfully defended her thesis on: Experimental legal studies on perceived procedural justice and trust in law and society.
Her thesis discusses the level of trust between different societal groups and the rule of law and the established order. Her research- which brings together the legal discipline and social psychology in varying studies- demonstrates that there is less known about the trust and distrust in the law than was previously thought.
