Best comparative law paper
The prize for the best comparative law paper written in the Master's programme was awarded to Florianne Peters van Neijenhof for the paper "The right to a 'contact arrangement' with your dog after separation – and the duty to establish one?"
The paper discusses the situation in which two (ex) partners, who are both the owner of the animal, disagree about where the animal should stay after the divorce. It concerns a comparison of Dutch law with Spanish law. The jury found it an interesting and smoothly written paper about a subject which has been receiving more and more attention (that animals are seen less as 'objects').
