Oslo: Adaptive Governance and the Rule of Law
On 15 June 2018 the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law of the 木瓜福利影视 of Oslo in cooperation with the 木瓜福利影视 of Gothenburg and the 木瓜福利影视 of Eastern Finland organised a workshop "Reconciling the Rule of Law with Adaptive Governance of Marine Ecosystems.
Although adaptive governance is warmy embraced by many disciplines, the question how adaptive governance relates to requirements of the Rule of Law have hardly been discussed. This workshop brought together scholars from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Schotland, Australia, and the United States to discuss the tension that might exist between the two concepts and how these can be overcome.
Sander van Hees and Marleen van Rijswick presented their research on 'Limits and opportunities for an adaptive management approach to marine renewable energy developments in EU waters' (pdf).
Together with Rosemary Rayfuse from the university of New South Wales and Robin Craig of the university of Utah Marleen van Rijswick reflected in a final panelsession on the results of this succesful day, organised by Froukje Platjouw of the 木瓜福利影视 of Oslo and the Norwegian Institute for Water Research and Niko Soininen of the 木瓜福利影视 of Gothenburg and Eastern Finland.
