The massive digitisation of cultural heritage such as historical books, archive documents and images, offers unique opportunities to enrich historical sources with knowledge from a wide range of user groups (such as professional or amateur historians). In the project ‘Annotating History: Managing Digital Heritage Interactively’, historians from Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ will work together with Brill Publishers, Museum Huis Doorn and the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Library to design a versatile annotation tool, based on a prototype that was developed in the project (2012-2014).

The project, initiated at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ by Prof. (department of Languages, Literature and Communication) and ir. (ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Library), has received funding from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), in the context of the 'Alfa Meerwaarde' funding programme.
