New Text and Data Mining platform Constellate

Digital Humanities Platforms support education and research
Text and Data Mining (TDM) is playing an increasingly important role in humanities research. Also at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 we see a growing demand for TDM possibilities for research and educational purposes. As an Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 employee, you already have access to various Digital Humanities platforms with which TDM is possible, such as the I-Analyzer developed by the Utrecht Digital Humanities Lab, but also the platform of publisher Gale Cengage, the Gale Digital Scholar Lab (see also DH platforms).

Beta evaluation offers advantages for employees
Last month, the 木瓜福利影视 Library also started participating in the beta evaluation of a new TDM platform, , developed by JSTOR/Portico. This platform offers possibilities to learn and perform TDM and to build datasets with own or digitally provided texts. Participation in the beta evaluation offers a number of advantages to university staff: for example, the datasets that can be built, visualised and downloaded may contain 50,000 items (instead of 25,000).
Open Education plays an important role in the platform. The educational resources of Constellate are openly accessible and you can use them to create your own educational materials.

Getting started with Constellate?
Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 staff members can register for the 'Introduction to Text Analytics' workshop offered by JSTOR/Portico, a series that will take place twice a week in May.
