New Minor on Climate鈥慠esilient Crops Has Launched
Since 1 September, the CropXR Minor has been running, an interdisciplinary program integrating plant biology, data science, and social sciences to equip students with the knowledge and skills to address the challenges of climate-resilient crops.
The minor is hosted at Wageningen 木瓜福利影视 (WUR) due to institutional embedding, but it is explicitly a collaboration between UU and WUR, reflecting Utrecht 木瓜福利影视鈥檚 commitment to interdisciplinary education and research that tackles pressing global challenges in agriculture and food systems.
Koen Beumers, board member of Future Food Utrecht, is a lecturer in the program and one of its co-developers. Future Food Utrecht is particularly pleased to support this minor, as it aligns closely with its mission to bridge scientific expertise with societal impact in the development of sustainable and resilient food systems.
The program combines lectures, workshops, and hands-on projects, allowing students to engage with cutting-edge research, integrate knowledge across disciplines, and develop practical solutions for real-world challenges in agriculture. It offers a unique opportunity for students to contribute to research-driven innovation in the field of climate-resilient crops.
