New book Marguerite van den Berg: Vulnerable. Political Opportunities

It came out on 2 September: Kwetsbaar. Politieke mogelijkheden (Vulnerable. Political opportunities), the new book by Marguerite van den Berg. A book about vulnerability… as a political opportunity.
Vulnerability is inevitable. All living things can be damaged or broken. We live in a world full of threats: climate catastrophe, war, misogyny, a social safety net with more and more holes.
What if we see our vulnerability and neediness not as problems, but as conditions for solidarity and coexistence? As the start of a search for new political possibilities? Vulnerability is a foundation for solidarity, but only if we dare to recognise it and do not respond to it with violence.
In Kwetsbaar. Politieke mogelijkheden, Marguerite van den Berg connects a sudden sick leave to western conifer seed bugs, nuclear waste to threat of war, the Dutch Benefits Scandal to dance and Nina Simone to Annie Ernaux. This book provides a loving and political answer to violence and powerlessness in this era.
