Mirjam Bult appointed member of the Supervisory Board
The Minister for Education, Culture and Science has appointed Dr Mirjam Bult as a member of the Supervisory Board of Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ as of 1 January 2022. She is an experienced manager and scholar with intimate knowledge of the academic world.

Mirjam Bult (1971) works as a State Councillor in the Advisory Division of the Council of State. Her various roles have made her very familiar with the academic world. She has held such positions as Vice Chair of the Executive Board of the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Twente and Federation Secretary for the 3TU universities and has worked as a consultant for KPMG. Mirjam Bult studied public administration at the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Twente, where she also earned a PhD in public-private governance. Her knowledge and experience will make her a valuable asset on the Supervisory Board’.
A vacancy arose on the Supervisory Board at the start of this year due to the fact that Prof. Frank van der Duijn Schouten was appointed Rector Magnificus of Erasmus ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Rotterdam. For the purposes of this vacancy, the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Council availed itself of its right to make a recommendation to the Minister for Education, Culture and Science. The ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Council and the Supervisory Board were jointly involved in filling the vacancy.
The Supervisory Board supervises the implementation of the duties of the Executive Board in relation to the primary university objectives as laid out in the Higher Education and Research Act, and supports the Executive Board with advice. The other members of the Supervisory Board are Joanne Kellermann LLM (Chair), Karin Laglas MSc, Dr Jan van der Eijk and Karin Bergstein MSc, MBA.
