Max Vetzo wins thesis award for his work on algorithms and fundamental rights

Max Vetzo wint Staatsrechtkring scriptieprijs 2019

Max Vetzo's thesis on algorithms and fundamental rights has been awarded with the Thesis Award 2019 of the Staatsrechtkring, the Dutch association for constituational law. Vetzo reveived the award on 13 December in Amsterdam. Vetzo is an alumnus of the Legal Research Master's programme at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视.

The jury praised the work of Max Vetzo for the extremely topical and important theme and was impressed by the book that resulted from this research. The method followed, according to the jury report, is pure and insightful. The impressive study offers both a clear overview and the required depth that is needed in this type of research.

The jury therefore sees the thesis as an important building block for legal practice, in which the study - as part of a broader research report (in Dutch)- actually plays a major role. The research was supervised by Prof. Janneke Gerards and Prof. Remco Nehmelman.

Another alumnus of Utrecht also nominated 

Suzanne Bloks, also an alumnus of the Legal Research Master's programma in Utrechtt, was nominated for her thesis on referendums in representative democracies. The jury expressed its appreciation for Bloks' interdisciplinary research at the intersection of mathematics and constitutional law.

The thesis award of the Staatsrechtkring is awarded annualy to the best master thesis on Dutch, European or or comparative constitutional law. More information is availaibe on  (in Dutch)
