Life Sciences deans thank scientific director Piet Gros

After three years of leadership, Piet Gros leaves his position as scientific director of the strategic theme Life Sciences. He will completely return to his research to the biochemistry and structure of cell proteins as of July 1st. We greatly appreciate his contribution to building the strategic theme as we know it today and we wholeheartedly thank him for the fruitful collaboration.
Piet is an enthusiastic leader with an unambiguous focus on science. He inspired scientists of all levels to share their voice and to look beyond their own disciplines. Piet facilitated interdisciplinary collaboration across departments, divisions and faculties.
Sander van den Heuvel will function as ad interim scientific director of the strategic theme and as point of contact, in close collaboration with his co-director Peter Luijten.
