Law students from Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 participated in the EU Green Week
Utrecht Law students and , joined by professor Chris Backes of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, were speakers during the EU Green Week event Mock Trials Debriefing. They discussed the outcomes of their mock trials with other students and law practitioners.
Together with speakers representing the Catholic 木瓜福利影视 of Lyon, Ghent 木瓜福利影视 and young lawyers from the Brussels Bar, they discussed how the same ecological legal conundrum can lead to very different results when discussed by different legal teams before different arbitration panels. This by discussing the similarities and differences in judicial structures, standing, procedural rules and practice, among other things.

The Case and the Moot Courts
As part of the Green Week partner events, virtual Moot Courts on European Environmental Law were organised by Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, Lyon Catholic 木瓜福利影视 and Ghent 木瓜福利影视. All participating teams worked on the same case study which concerned the granting of a permit for the upgrading and expansion of a pig farm located within a Natura 2000 area with a protected habitat type sensitive to nitrogen deposition. The applicant NGO argued that no more pigs should be allowed in the area as long as the critical nitrogen load of the protected habitats in the area are exceeded.
Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 joins the EU Green Week every year, last year, 9 students debated a case on wind turbines. This year's sessions were held completely online, in stead of in Brussels, due to the coronavirus measures.
