Kees Koedijk appointed as professor of Banking and Finance

The Executive Board of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 is pleased to announce that Professor Kees Koedijk has been appointed as Faculty Professor of Banking and Finance at the Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 School of Economics (U.S.E.), starting August 1 2020. 鈥楳y ambition is to help grow the finance section of U.S.E. in terms of academic impact and real life connections,鈥 says Koedijk. 鈥楤ut also of course to incorporate thinking on sustainability and circular economy into the finance curriculum and to make sustainable finance research at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 among the best in Europe.鈥
鈥楿.S.E. is delighted to welcome Kees Koedijk,鈥 says Professor Erik Stam, Dean of the School of Economics. 鈥楬e is a very senior scholar, with an impressive academic and governance track record, who will be a major impetus for the development of sustainable finance research and education at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 in the coming years.鈥
Kees Koedijk is also Distinguished Research Professor Shanghai 木瓜福利影视 of Finance and Economics and Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) London.
Koedijk was Professor of Finance at Tilburg 木瓜福利影视 (2007-2020), where he has also been Dean and Director of TIAS, Business School (2012-2019) and Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tilburg 木瓜福利影视 (2007-2012). He was Professor of Financial Management at RSM Erasmus 木瓜福利影视 Rotterdam and Professor of Finance at Maastricht 木瓜福利影视, and also Senior Economist at the Research Department of De Nederlandsche Bank (Dutch Central Bank).
He has been granted many research awards, including the Duurzaam Lintje (2012), a Medal for work on sustainability, two large Mistra Grants (2006 and 2008) from the Swedish government, the Finance et D茅veloppement Durable prize of the French newspaper Le Monde (2005), and winner of the Moskowitz Prize for Research on Socially Responsible Investment (2005 and 2002). His research has been published in leading Finance and Economics journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Banking & Finance, and the Journal of International Economics.
Koedijk obtained his Ph.D. at Erasmus 木瓜福利影视 Rotterdam. He is member of the board of supervisors of Fontys Hogescholen, and he was member of the investment committee of DSM Pension Fund, external advisor to the board of Stichting ABP, chairman of the supervisory board of mutual funds of ASN Bank and member and chairman of the 鈥淐ouncil of Economic Advisors鈥 of the House of Representatives of the Dutch Parliament鈥 (REA, Raad van Economische Adviseurs Tweede Kamer). Next to these memberships he has been co-founder of the companies Global Property Research (GPR) (1994) and Finance Ideas (2004).
