Katell Lav茅ant awarded fellowship at Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study
Dr. Katell Lav茅ant has been selected for a stay at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS-KNAW) in Amsterdam. The NIAS Fellowship allows her to work on her project for a period of 5 months in the academic year 2020-21.
In this final phase of her , she will write chapters of her upcoming book on joyful culture in sixteenth-century France. In this book, based on archival evidence, literary texts, images and objects, she will demonstrate how joyful culture in the early modern period was an important tool to maintain social cohesion and participate to societal debates. During her stay at NIAS, she will also studying rare books at the special collections of the 木瓜福利影视 Library of Amsterdam, for her project . will become part of a carefully selected community of about sixty scholars, artists and writers.
