Hunting El Ni帽o
The El Ni帽o phenomenon has been very active again this year, causing worldwide weather anomalies, especially around the Pacific Ocean. Last year, a team of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 went to Ecuador to investigate the regional impact of El Ni帽o. The team gathered sediment cores from high Andean lakes from which they can reconstruct the history of this important climate system which also influences weather patterns in Europe. This video shows expedition highlights and the background of the study.
The study is part of a NWO-funded research project at the Department of Physical Geography.
