Students from the first batch of Honours Trajectum Utrecht (HTU, 2017-2018) graduated from secondary school last summer. Six of the thirteen HTU alumni are now studying at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. A great result, HTU project leader Bettina Tuinstra feels.

Honours Trajectum Utrecht

The Honours Trajectum Utrecht is a programme where ambitious and inquisitive second and third-year havo and vwo students can follow supplementary education. This allows them to further develop their Dutch language skills and knowledge of the world, get acquainted with science, and improve study skills.

鈥淎t the HTU we were introduced to Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, which made the step to UU less scary: we already felt at home there,鈥 Majd and Lin Alstita say. Both are now first-years in Medicine. Other HTU alumni started studies including Pharmacy and Information Science.

The success of the HTU programme may lie in its approachability, project leader Bettina Tuinstra thinks. 鈥淚n a very accessible way, students are intensively introduced to the academic world. This allows them to learn a lot about opportunities for further education after secondary school.鈥

Opportunity equality

With the programme, HTU aims to contribute to equal opportunities for students for whom - because of their socio-cultural or economic background - university would not be an obvious next step.

In 2017, the Honours Trajectum Utrecht (HTU) started as a pilot of the Faculty of Humanities. By now, all faculties of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 participate in the HTU, by providing excursions and guest lectures, both online and on-site at the university.
