Honorary Doctorate from the Universit茅 Catholique de Louvain for Naomi Ellemers

On Thursday 5 December, Distinguished Professor of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and social and organisational psychologist Naomi Ellemers received an honorary doctorate from the . Ellemers was one of the special guests during the 50th anniversary of this Belgian university's Faculty of Economic, Social and Political Sciences and Communication.

The Universit茅 Catholique de Louvain praises Ellemers for her contribution to research developments in her field of study, where she uses insights from social neuroscience to study problems in organisational practice, among other things. 

Relevance and scope

Ellemers is also praised for the way she deals with social issues in her research, such as identity issues, migration and gender equality. Nathalie Nader-Grosbois, dean of the relevant faculty: 'We would furthermore like to emphasise the relevance and scope of Ellemers' work, which is a continuing source of inspiration for policymakers both within the academic community and beyond.'

Lecture

The Utrecht professor held a lecture upon accepting her honorary doctorate, in which she discussed, among other things, the mechanisms that allow men and women to achieve different levels of career success in organisations and companies. She also provided a guide to more effective diversity policy, which can be used within the academic community, within the labour market and in general.
