Grant for Community Service Learning

Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 wants to educate students that contribute to a better world and solving societal challenges. Our students are known for their social engagement. Are you a lecturer and do you find social engagement in education important? Then you can now apply for a grant for developing Community Service Learning (CSL) education.

CSL is 鈥渁 course-based, credit-bearing educational experience in which students (a) participate in an organized service activity that meets identified community needs and (b) reflect on the service activity in such a way as to gain further understanding of course content, a broader appreciation of the discipline, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility鈥 (Bringle & Hatcher, 1995).

You can apply for a grant between 1000 en 4000 euro for an educational project that is aimed at (further) developing CSL. It can be used to create time to develop education by yourself or with colleagues, but it can also be used to organize activities with students and societal partners or for exchanging knowledge and experiences between lecturers.

The programme Community Service Learning (CSL) was set up in the summer of 2018. The ambition of this programme is that there are visible and attractive opportunities for all students to work on societal challenges such as climate change, inclusivity and health care together with governmental organizations, businesses and/or citizens. Students learn from society and society learns from students. The programme committee established this grant to stimulate CSL at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视.
