The scholarship amounts to 7000 euros and is awarded each year to about ten European students. Sergey is in the first year of the Master in Business Informatics at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视.
Compliment

"I see it as a compliment from a big tech company," Sergey says in a Teams meeting. For the application, he had to write an essay showing that he is an excellent student with leadership skills and a passion for computer science. It didn't take him long: Sergey gets impressive grades and was chairman of an investment club for students (Duitenberg Investment Team). In addition, he dedicates himself to people with a disability, for example through Solgu, an organisation that advises the city of Utrecht on people with a disability and/or chronic illness.
Pain
Sergey has trouble walking. Since birth, he suffers from Cerebral Parese, which causes him to experiences pain while moving around. During his Bachelor鈥檚 programme the pain became so severe that it had to be dealt with. Now he has an artificial hip and that offers relief. "Everything that has to do with mobility costs a lot of energy. Think of something as simple as walking from one lecture hall to another", he says. "As far as that's concerned, working from home because of corona is a godsend for me!"
Suggestions?
With the scholarship, Sergey wants to go to the United States to write his Master's thesis or do an internship. "I wonder if the American corporate culture suits me." There are no specific plans yet, so suggestions are more than welcome. "I'm looking for a thesis supervisor or an internship at a tech company in the direction of machine learning. If there were no limits, I would prefer to work with self-learning algorithms at Tesla or Neuralink right now. If only to make my mother proud."
