Get practical experience doing research in society!

Are you interested in support for getting practical experience that connects to the academic interests and skills you have developed in your degree program? Are you looking for an alternative to an internship or exchange experience abroad? Do you want to explore how to connect your educational goals to the role that you can play in present-day society?

Then do a guided research project in cooperation with a community organisation whose aims fit your interests! Learn how to co-create relevant research with your own societal partner. Take the BA course in block 3. The course is taught in English (assignments can be submitted in Dutch). Teachers support you in designing a research plan based on principles of shared ownership and equal respect for different forms of knowledge. Your project starts with your personal interests, goals and engagement. You can carry out the project that you design in block 4 as a research internship with a relevant community organisation.

Enrol in the course via Osiris. If you have questions, contact the internship coordinator for your programme, or teachers Jocelyn Ballantyne (j.c.ballantyne@uu.nl) or Berteke Waaldijk (m.l.waaldijk@uu.nl). They can brainstorm with you and help identify potential societal partners.
