Future Food Utrecht welcomes Anneke as a Hofvijverkring Fellow

Future Food Utrecht is proud to announce that Anneke Hellinga has been awarded the Hofvijverkring Fellowship! 🎉 This prestigious fellowship supports young researchers at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ in advancing innovative science and fostering international collaboration.
As part of her research journey, Anneke will go on a 3-month research internship to IATA-CSIC in Valencia, where she will be working with Professor M.C. Collado to explore new insights that contribute to the future of food and health sciences. She will also participate in an international conference to share her findings and build new collaborations.
About Anneke’s Research
Anneke will continue her research on dietary advice for breastfeeding women to improve infant health. Her project focuses on how the maternal diet impacts the microbiome development of infants. This work is carried out in collaboration with the PRIMA cohort (Protecting against Respiratory tract Infections through human Milk Analysis) at UMC Utrecht.
Following her fellowship, Anneke will be appointed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), under the supervision of Professor Johan Garssen, while continuing her collaboration with the PRIMA cohort.
About the Hofvijverkring Fellowship
Hundreds of young researchers at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ are working on innovative scientific projects to help solve major societal challenges, such as climate change, infectious diseases, ageing, social cohesion, and safety. The Hofvijverkring Fellowship supports this new generation of scientists with a special program. Each year, five promising researchers are selected to receive a financial boost of €5,000, which they can use to strengthen their research for example, by engaging in international collaborations.
The Hofvijverkring welcomes new members to help make this fellowship program possible for young researchers.
Future Food Utrecht is excited to support ambitious researchers like Anneke and looks forward to learning from her international experiences upon her return!
