Frank Groothuijse appointed professor of European and national environmental law

Frank Groothuijse

As of 1 August, Frank Groothuijse external link has been appointed professor of European and national environmental law at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视.

Since 1 May 2014, Frank Groothuijse has been affiliated with the institute of Jurisprudence, Constitutional and Administrative Law and the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL) of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance of Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 as associate professor/senior researcher 'Environmental Law'. In this capacity, he conducts research and provides (post-)academic education.  He publishes in the field of environmental law and related fields. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the research line Delta System Functioning within the multidisciplinary research hub Water, Climate & Future Deltas of the interdisciplinary strategic research theme Pathways to Sustainability.

Advice to government

He also has extensive experience in advising the Senate of the Dutch Parliament (Committee on Infrastructure, Water and the Environment), ministries, provinces, municipalities and water authority  in the area of environmental law, whereby the emphasis in recent years has been on advising on the Environment Act and related regulations.

Frank Groothuijse is editor and main author of the Environmental Law Manual, member of the editorial staff of the Environmental Law Magazine (Tijdschrift voor Omgevingsrecht) and of the environmental law series of Paris publishers. He is also cluster coordinator for 'Water Law' and annotator for the journal 'Administratiefrechtelijke Beslissingen'. He is also a member of the Awb objections advisory committee of the water boards Rivierenland and Hollandse Delta.
