Festive online inauguration of new UYA members
Each year, the new generation of the Utrecht Young Academy is officially inaugurated. This year, on March 25, we could not hold our in-person inauguration dinner due to the corona crisis. Instead, new and current members got together in an online Zoom meeting to officially welcome our new members and the board of 2020.
We are very happy to welcome nine outstanding new members to the Utrecht Young Academy. During our online meeting, organised by the social committee of the Utrecht Young Academy, new and current members had the opportunity to meet and get to know each other. During short breakout sessions, current members told about their experiences and the projects they are engaged in, while new members shared their ideas and expectations for future projects.
During the online meeting, the board of the Utrecht Young Academy of 2020 introduced themselves as well. We welcome Laurien Crump, Tessa Diphoorn and Borja Martinovic as new members of the board. We thank and say goodbye to Susanne Knittel and Francien Peterse. Martine Veldhuizen, the new chair of the Utrecht Young Academy, concluded the evening with a plenary toast.
