Exhibition 'Alumni about tomorrow' arrived on the Domplein

One by one they dangled in the air this morning: eight alumni who were asked this lustrum year about how they work towards a better world. Together they form the exhibition 'Alumni about tomorrow', which will be on display on the Domplein for a month as part of the celebrations of 385 years of science by Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and the UMC Utrecht.

Creating tomorrow together
The lustrum's theme, ‘Creating tomorrow together’ resonates with many of our alumni. Working on a better world is, after all, best done by joining forces. This is confirmed, for example, by lawyer Eva González Pérez, who might not have been able to reveal the childcare benefit scandal to the general public without the support of politicians and journalists. Lena Hartog uses the principle of crowd acting in order to change the culture of fashion. And climatologist Rob Sluijter, who has worked at KNMI for many years, could not do without colleague Yvonne Schavemaker, who ensures the quality of weather measurements.

Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ is proud of its alumni and the work that they do. They are an inspiration to current students, to other residents and visitors to our city, and many more others. Longer versions of their stories can be read on uu.nl/alumni-tomorrow. Here you can also find videos of four alumni.

Exhibition
The outdoor exhibition will be on display from 3 September to 3 October on the Domplein. An indoor exhibition of 'Alumni about tomorrow' that includes more stories will travel through Utrecht this autumn and will be on display in the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ Library, Kanaleneiland Library and Overvecht Library, among other places.
