Executive course ‘Supervision in the 21st century’ very well received
19 April 2016 saw the successful completion of the first faculty-wide course entitled ‘Supervision in the 21st century’. The course is an exclusive executive programme aimed at public regulators dealing with strategic supervision issues. Within the span of four afternoons and four evenings, the participants were treated on an interdisciplinary programme consisting of contributions from all three faculty departments. The programme was hosted by Judith van Erp, Professor of Public Institutions.
The 17 carefully selected participants hailed from various regulating organisations, such as: AFM (Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets), IGZ (Dutch Health Care Inspectorate), DNB (Dutch Central Bank), Inspectieraad (Dutch Inspection Council), and Omgevingsdienst Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Canal environment agency). The participants were very enthusiastic about the format and content of the course:
“An eye-opener in the field of supervision in a wider context”
“Eagerly gained more knowledge through inspiring people”
“Very inspiring to learn from academics, practitioners and each other”
The course consisted of interactive lectures, a topical multidisciplinary case and dinner dialogues with inspiring guest speakers. The course will again be offered at the beginning of next year. For further information, please check our website () or contact Miranda Walraven (m.walraven@uu.nl).
