Dr. Niko Wanders explains: what can we do against drought?
The was held on Friday 1 October. During this event, scientists, guests, and artists think together about the world of tomorrow and the important questions of today. UYA member Dr. Niko Wanders was one of the speakers and gave a lecture about drought. How do we cope with this ‘creeping’ disaster?
The annual festival is organised by Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ, in collaboration with the NOWO, the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of the Arts Utrecht, the ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Humanities, and TivoliVredenburg. Hydrologist Dr. Niko Wanders started his research on drought nine years ago. Although there was little attention for drought back then, that has changed now. The past dry summers have exposed the consequences of drought, for both people and nature. What can we do against drought?
