Discover Brightspace with the Illuminate escape room
Why you want to play along
How much fun is it to learn about the new Learning Management System (LMS) through an escape room? During this game, you will discover different aspects of Brightspace. For example, you will learn how students experience Brightspace and how lecturers can set up their courses. A good preparation for the new academic year when all UU lecturers and students will start working with Brightspace.
Central to the story of this escape room is the illUUmi 3000, an extraordinary machine that makes the sun rise every day. The device is hidden in one of the many rooms at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视. It is quite complicated to operate this machine. If you press the wrong button, the consequences are disastrous. One night, things go horribly wrong. Just one hour to sunrise and the clock is ticking...
How Illuminate works
With a minimum of four colleagues, you form a team and can participate in the escape room. That is a team of colleagues from UU or UMCU. You can also sign up individually. With a minimum of four, maximum five separate players, you will then form a team together.
To escape from the Illuminate escape room, you need to work well together, communicate well and use your creativity and analytical skills. Together, you look for keys, crack codes and solve puzzles and riddles as quickly as possible. After all, don't you want to win?
Illuminate consists of two parts. In the first sixty minutes, you play the escape room with fellow lecturers. During this experience, you get to know almost imperceptibly.
Immediately afterwards, in the second part, you talk to an education expert about the possibilities of Brightspace you saw during the escape room. This takes thirty minutes. In little time, you will thus be introduced to Brightspace's main elements and functionalities in a fun way. And you will learn how to deploy this system properly from an educational point of view.
