Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and learning?

Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ is committed to developing educational innovation and wishes to esteem outstanding education as well as good teaching. For this reason, the Executive Board is making available a sum of two million euros per year to support talented members of teaching staff and educational innovations.

This amount is allocated via the Utrecht Education Incentive Fund (USO). This year, three themes have been established based on which the projects will be funded: internationalisation, lifelong learning and interdisciplinarity.

Interdisciplinarity

This theme focuses on education that exposes students to multidisciplinary issues, preparing them for a future in which they will work together with people from a highly diverse range of backgrounds. What characteristics typify an effective interdisciplinary education and how can it be designed optimally? How can the strategic themes be translated into coherent interdisciplinary degree programmes that feature highly rewarding and relevant subject matter? What skills and preparation will teaching staff require in order to provide an interdisciplinary education?

For each theme, a consortium will be set up to write a project proposal. Each of the three consortia will submit a project proposal for which they can request a maximum of €250,000. Every UU lecturer can now apply as a consortium member or leader.
