CHARM-EU in magazine ‘Higher Education Management’
The magazine 'Higher Education Management' published an article in October 2021 about the background of the alliance and about the recently started master's programme Global Challenges for Sustainability.
The four authors of the article work at Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ and at CHARM-EU, an alliance of five European universities. Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ has been involved in CHARM-EU from the very beginning. The initiative is in line with Utrecht ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ's ambitions to create an international working and learning environment. The five alliance partners found each other in shared ambitions in the field of educational innovation.
CHARM-EU brings new education and research concepts, as well as the governance of a European university, into practice. The article in Higher Education Management describes, among other things, how the five CHARM-EU partners had to bring their own national laws and regulations in line with European agreements in order to be able to start the joint-degree master's programme Global Changes for Sustainability.
In the coming years, CHARM-EU will focus on expanding the current joint-degree master's programme, but also on looser forms of work such as micro-credentials. In addition, work is being done on setting up joint research in joint PhD programmes within TORCH, the research collective of CHARM-EU. TORCH focuses on research in the education of CHARM-EU. CHARM-EU also wants to expand the number of partners within the alliance.
