Challenging Future Generations: Art Competition

The  is looking for original artwork made by students or PhD candidates to decorate the walls of the new Centre. This art is an opportunity to showcase emerging artists and spark reflection and conversation. The art will cover the wall of the CUCo Centre and artist will win €500.

Guidelines

Anyone registered as a student or PhD candidate at one of the 4 alliance institutes at the time of submission is eligible. As creative expression can take on many forms, we welcome any artistic media that can hang on a wall. Artists are encouraged to submit a proposal including:

  • A provisional sketch/prototype of their idea

  • A concept note (500 word max), explaining how their art addresses the theme of science and scholarship to challenge future generations

  • A budget for supplies

If selected, the costs associated with making the art will be covered. Winners will also receive 500 euros. Submit proposal as PDF with name and university affiliation to cuco@wur.nl

Deadline for submission: Tuesday 31 August, 2021, 12:00 PM (noon). 

Winners will be selected by a jury including the rectors of the 4 alliance institutes. There is a cash prize for the four selected winners. The winners will be able to present their prototype during the launch of the Centre on September 16. For more info, contact the Centre via cuco@wur.nl.
