Celebrating 20 Years of the Graduate School of Life Sciences
This year, we proudly celebrate two decades of the interfaculty Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS). Over the past 20 years, our three faculties鈥擲cience, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine鈥攈ave worked closely together to advance Master's, PhD, and Continuing Education in the life sciences domain.
United by a shared mission to improve life, we provide an inspiring and innovative academic environment where graduates are empowered to contribute to and excel in the dynamic field of life sciences and society.
For two decades, we have been committed to shaping bright minds and fostering outstanding education. Today, the GSLS offers a unique life sciences ecosystem, supporting nearly 1,800 master's students and over 2,000 PhD candidates while establishing a strong foundation for professional education.
This thriving environment integrates cutting-edge life sciences research with education, in collaboration with our Strategic Theme Life Sciences and key partners such as the Hubrecht Institute, the Princess M谩xima Center, and many other (inter)national institutions.
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and contributions of our faculty members, staff, partners, students, and PhD candidates. We sincerely thank everyone who has played a role in making the GSLS a success. To mark this special occasion, we will celebrate with a short video (see above), festive gatherings, and special tokens of appreciation.
Additionally, we have created a digital celebration toolbox. If you are hosting an event and would like to incorporate a special lustrum element, please contact Lisa Keijzer (A.E.Keijzer-4@umcutrecht.nl) for additional promotional materials.
We look forward to celebrating this milestone together!
