The annual conference of the Dutch Staatsrechtkring (Constitutional Law society) is held at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 this year. The theme is 'Constitutional law in the data society'. For this conference we invite participants to write an essay. Contributions from non-legal disciplines are also very welcome. There will be keynotes from Scott Brewer from Harvard Law School and Sandra Wachter from the Oxford Internet Institute.

The data society is driven by digital technologies and the use of algorithms, all of which use large-scale analyses of physical and digital data. In a general sense, the data society also stands for a society in which information is central and in which there is a large supply of -and easy access to -  information. During the Constitutional Law Conference, we will consider how constitutional law and the data society (should) relate to each other..

The Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 scholars of Constitutional Law invite everyone to write an essay for one of the panels of the Constitutional Law Conference. To do this, send an abstract to Staatrechtconferent2020@uu.nl before 13 July.

The authors of the selected abstracts will be asked to elaborate their abstract in an essay and to present it during the conference. There is room for one essay per panel. Contributions from non-legal disciplines are also very welcome.

The panels are:

  1. Post-truth politics and fake news
  2. Data and algorithms in administrative decision-making processes and enforcement
  3. Crises in the data society
  4. Intelligence services and cyber threats

Please note, the main language during the conference will be Dutch. This article continues in Dutch
