Book publication: Refugee Youth - Migration, Justice and Urban Space

Our board member, Ilse van Liempt, has recently co-edited a book that delves into the experiences of young refugees. The book will soon be published as a paperback version. She describes Refugee Youth - Migration, Justice and Urban Space as: This book is the end product of a three year research project on how young people with a refugee background use public space in various European cities. The long list of editors reflects how we collaborated as a team. The chapters itself move beyond Europe and also draw on refugee鈥檚 experiences in Australia, Congo, India, Jordan, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey and Venezuela.

This innovative edited volume is based on in-depth, qualitative research with young refugees and their perspectives on migration, social relations and cultural spaces. The chapters give voice to refugee youth from a wide variety of social backgrounds, including insights about their migration experiences, their negotiations of spatial justice and injustice, and the diverse ways in which they use urban space.
