Apply for the Mixed Classroom 2020-2021
Imagine the Climate City of the Future
Climate change requires a fundamentally different view of the future. How will the earth remain habitable for future generations? How and where do we build houses in view of increasing weather extremes, falling soils and rising sea levels? In period 2 the Urban Futures Studio organises the fifth edition of the exciting Mixed Classroom about imagining the future.
In the Mixed Classroom master students and policymakers learn with and from each other about dealing with the inherent uncertainty of the future. You will also work together to create an online exhibition on the Climate City of the Future. For an impression of last years’ presentations see the Museum of the Linear Economy at RAUM, the bus tour ‘A Coach for Conversation’ and the exposition ‘Uninvited Futuring’.
At the end of this course you will have access to policymakers, in-depth know how of the impact of climate change on urbanism, Techniques of Futuring, and the reality of policy-making. Apply now: the course is open for 30 master students! Application deadline: 21 September 2020. For more information contact course coordinator dr. Jesse Hoffman (j.g.hoffman@uu.nl)
