From 15 August 2025, professor Annemarie van Wezel has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences by Utrecht ľ�ϸ���Ӱ��’s Executive Board. Van Wezel will also be appointed professor. She is currently professor of Environmental Ecology at the ľ�ϸ���Ӱ�� of Amsterdam.

President of the Executive Board Anton Pijpers is very pleased with ’s new appointment at Utrecht ľ�ϸ���Ӱ��. “Annemarie brings a combination of administrative experience and impressive insight into the broad field of Geosciences. Her vision of collegial governance, and her focus on culture and the development of young researchers fit perfectly with what our university stands for. With her appointment, we not only gain a wealth of knowledge and experience, but also the perspective of someone who knows our university inside out and who has gained experience at other organisations.
