Animal Welfare Body Utrecht

Together, Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and 木瓜福利影视 Medical Center Utrecht have founded the Animal Welfare Body Utrecht (Dutch name: Instantie voor Dierenwelzijn Utrecht, IvD). Every institution that conducts experiments on animals, breeds laboratory animals or provides laboratory animals is required to found such an organisation. The goal of the IvD is to structurally ensure an optimal well-being of laboratory animals within Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 and 木瓜福利影视 Medical Center Utrecht. The application of alternatives and of good and responsible research are the central values. This fits within the legal ramifications and has additional attention for replacement, reduction and refinement (the three Rs).

A large part of the tasks have been set in the Dutch Experiments on Animals Act. The most important tasks are:

  • to inform on technical and scientific developments
  • to determine and assess procedures for the inspection of and reporting on animal well-being
  • to provide education and advice on the adoption regulations and fitting socialisation of laboratory animals

Procedures

  • to coordinate the execution of experiments on animals beforehand with the researchers
  • to determine together with the researchers whether or not any changes should be presented to the CCD

Registration and supervision

  • to provide registration data on experiments on animals and laboratory animals
  • to supervise the well-being of the laboratory animals
