Damiën - Urban and Economic Geography
The role of geography always draws my attention because of my natural awareness of the physical environment.
I decided to study this Master’s because it has the possibility to choose a direction. In my Bachelor’s Sociale geografie en planologie I did not like urban geography that much. I found it much more interesting to learn about the influence of geography on economies and visa versa. I picked the specialisation Economic Geography. This direction focuses on the role of entrepreneurs, companies and cities. The role of geography always draws my attention because of my natural awareness of the physical environment, this is something a lot of geography students tend to have.
The classes are very diverse and interactive. Especially with the economical geography direction the classes are small and there is a lot of attention for the individual student during the classes. After the studies I aim for a job in location consultancy or the real estate market. Both are very interesting to me and are connected to the things you learn during the Master’s.
