Cities have continued to fascinate me ever since and I made the decision to study Human Geography.
I cannot remember a time in which I was not interested in social processes and simply observing the interactions between groups of people in public space. Because my parents and I have always lived right in the middle of the Randstad area of the Netherlands, in a city called Zoetermeer, from a young age we have always visited a lot of different cities within the country, and outside the country. Needless to say, cities have continued to fascinate me ever since and I made the decision to study Human Geography.
When during my bachelor studies in Human Geography I started following subjects on urban geography and moved to the much more lively and much more interesting city of Utrecht, that's when I knew for sure; "this is what I want to continue studying". Now, in my master's I have completely specialised in urban geography, more specifically, I am following the track "neighbourhoods & residential dynamics". After the studies I will, of course, continue to focus on cities and processes that take place within them.
