During my time in the Research Master in Global Urban Transformations, I really appreciated the freedom the program offered to shape my own academic path. From the beginning, I was encouraged to explore topics that matched my interests, with flexibility in both research methods and timespan. This made it possible to design projects that felt relevant to me while also meeting academic standards.

At the same time, I never felt that this independence meant working without support. The teachers and supervisors at Utrecht 木瓜福利影视 were approachable and always willing to invest time in answering questions. Their guidance helped me navigate the challenges of research design and data collection, while still leaving plenty of space for creativity and personal direction.

The structure of the courses contributed a lot to this experience. The small number of participants meant that the student-teacher ratio was excellent, which created a familiar and open atmosphere. I felt comfortable engaging in discussions, asking more critical questions, and exploring topics in greater depth. The presence of experts in different fields also made the courses inspiring, as I could learn from a wide range of perspectives and experiences.

The small cohort size also created a strong sense of community. It was easy to get to know my fellow students, exchange ideas, and discuss challenges together. Having that close-knit environment was especially valuable in a research-focused program, because peer feedback and different viewpoints often shaped and improved my own projects.

Looking back, the Research Master in Global Urban Transformations really helped me to strengthen my research skills and refine my academic interests. The combination of independence, strong guidance, and a supportive environment gave me the confidence to pursue research in ways that felt meaningful and motivating. For me, it was a program that balanced freedom with structure.
