Carlota - testimonial

I decided to do the GIMA Master's to enhance my GIS skills without doing a full technical Master's programme.

I studied environmental engineering as my Bachelor鈥檚 at the Technical 木瓜福利影视 of Madrid. I decided to do the GIMA Master's to enhance my GIS skills without doing a full technical Master's programme. I started following it from Spain and travelling back and forth for the contact weeks. During the contact weeks, all the Master鈥檚 participants meet. In those days, on campus activities take place and in the evenings the student association NODE, formed students from the previous years, organize activities for students make contact weeks memorable.

Following the Master's online was challenging in the first months since a lot of personal work was required. The following two modules (2 & 5) required more group work.

Being a student of the four universities makes it possible to participate in many projects and research programmes. One of those is Bright Minds Assistantship research grant at UU, where I participated and that allowed me to move to the Netherlands. This also gave me an opportunity to consider continuing my career into research either now or after some years working in the industry.
