'Who Cares' Documentary Screening and Discussion on Healthcare Accessibility for undocumented immigrants in NL
The documentary Who Cares by filmmaker Elsie Vermeer offers an intimate and moving portrait of an undocumented Brazilian woman living in Amsterdam who is confronted with a serious medical diagnosis. Through her personal story, the film sheds light on the broader struggles faced by undocumented migrants in the Netherlands as they attempt to access essential healthcare services - rights that are legally guaranteed, yet often hard to reach.
Following the screening, a panel of interdisciplinary experts will reflect on the film and discuss the structural and human dimensions of healthcare access for undocumented individuals in the Netherlands.
