Webinar Healthy Urban Spatial Planning

to

The Data- and Knowledge Hub Healthy Urban Living, an independent and open public-private platform, initiated by Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the Economic Board Utrecht, organises a webinar series on Healthy Urban Design. The third webinar, which takes place on 29 October, focuses on Healthy Urban Spatial Planning.

Adding air quality to city planning-designing thrive zones for the youngest residents

In a collaborative process between project partners Gehl, Copenhagen Solutions Lab, Google Air View, the Bernard van Leer Foundation and Utrecht 木瓜福利影视, the team investigated how urban planning and local urban design solutions can help to reduce exposure to air pollution, specifically Ultrafine Particles (UFP) and invite people to spend time where air quality is better, with a specific focus on the most vulnerable; small children and their caregivers.

As a result, tangible Healthy Urban Living (HUL) design principles have been proposed and are now being implemented and evaluated for their positive impact. This unique transdisciplinary project demonstrates the value of data-driven actionable HUL innovations.
