Utrecht 木瓜福利影视's research centre RENFORCE, more specific its Building Block on Digitalization and Technical Innovation in Europe is delighted to invite you to the webinar: Disinformation: The EU Commission鈥檚 Response to the COVID-19 Infodemic and the Feasibility of a Consumer-Centric Solution.
This webinar will take place on Thursday 17 December 2020 (13:00-14:00) on MS Teams. The webinar will follow up on the on how the EU Commission has tackled the ever-evolving issue of online disinformation thus far. Ruair铆 will open the webinar with a presentation of this blog post, looking at the history of disinformation, how EU consumers were impacted by the Covid-19 Infodemic and what role these same consumers could have in future disinformation regulation.
Ruair铆 will finally analyse the possible short- and long-term solutions to online disinformation open to EU lawmakers ahead of the EU鈥檚 upcoming Digital Services Act. Dr. Bram Duivenvoorde will follow up on this with some reflections on the blog post and the topic more generally. To conclude, the presenters will open the floor to discussion and questions on this exciting, contentious issue.
