On 26 January Italian Language and Culture organises a lecture about the discourse of Italianità in particular Somali diasporic communities in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands with Dr Linde Luijnenburg (ľ¹Ï¸£ÀûÓ°ÊÓ of Amsterdam).

This talk will address linguistic, sonic, visual, and material information communicating imaginaries of identities relating to ¾±³Ù²¹±ô¾±²¹²Ô¾±³Ùà in Somali diasporic communities in England and the Netherlands. How do language and sonic, visual and material appearances related to particular languages incorporate, enable, or re-shape identity formations in our ‘super-diverse’ cities? What implications do other practices related to languages have, and how do they communicate identity formations within particular communities?

This lecture will be held in English.
